If you’ve been injured in an accident arising from employment by a third party (to the employment relationship) tortfeasor, you have two potential sources of recovery.

You can sue the tortfeasor for damages in a civil action at common law, and you can recover benefits under the Minnesota Workers' Compensation Act, (Minn. Stat. § 176.011).
